Dr. George Berwick

Head Teacher, Ravens Wood School, Bromley, England

George is one of the founder members of the Thinking and Learning Schools’ Alliance.

He studied for his PhD at Cambridge University in the area of school improvement and effectiveness. His latest publication, “Building success – A School’s Journey of Improvement” is a source publication for the Alliance.

George has been Head Teacher at Ravens Wood School since 1993. Previously he was Senior Education Officer for Essex County Council having fulfilled roles of main scale teacher to Deputy Head over 15 years.

Since 1994 George has worked as a consultant and advisor on many other projects for the DfES, the Funding Agency for Schools, the NCSL and the Technology Schools Trust.

Currently he is Joint Project Director for the London Leadership Strategy. George is also a Chief Executive of a London school. George works as a management and leadership consultant for neighbouring Local Education Authorities and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. He is currently working with the Quebec Provincial Government and the Western Quebec School Board.
