Mr. Mike Newman
Deputy Head Teacher, Ravens Wood School, Bromley, England
Mike has a degree from Bath University and a PGCE from London University, both in geography. He has taught in Thailand as well as in the United Kingdom.
At Ravens Wood he has developed the role of head of student development to cover the needs of all students.
He has been a tutor on the Immersion Programmes. He has particular interest in providing information that draws pictures of student performance and the provision of exclusive support programmes to meet students' specific learning needs.
More recently Mike has redesigned the school curriculum to offer more appropriate learning pathways for all students, drawing on Inclusive Support Strategies. In addition to this, he has introduced an 'Accelerated Learning Programme' for High Achievers.
